Following the Tradition of the Gordon Highlanders - My Story
I come from a proud military family. My grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather all served with the Gordon Highlanders, and I was born at Aldershot Military Hospital. Throughout my life, I have maintained strong connections with my family roots in Aberdeen, where my Scottish heritage continues to play an important role in who I am today.
My bagpiping journey began when I first heard Cock o' the North, the regimental march of the Gordon Highlanders. The power of the Great Highland Bagpipe and the emotions it stirred in me left a lasting impression. As I learned more about the instrument and its rich history, what started as an interest quickly became a lifelong passion.
I am a competitive bagpiper registered with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA) and have previously performed as part of a Pipe and Drum Band. Over the years, I have had the privilege of playing in Scotland, Wales, England, France, and Italy, often following and supporting the Scotland rugby team.
While I enjoy competing and performing, my greatest passion is giving back to the community. I do not charge for funerals for serving or former members of the Armed Forces, nor for Remembrance services in and around the Brecon Beacons. Instead, I simply ask that, where possible, a donation is made to a charity of your choice.
With more than 17 years of experience in customer service, I understand the importance of communication, reliability, and delivering a professional service. I take pride in understanding each client's needs and ensuring every performance is delivered with care, respect, and attention to detail.
My long-term ambition is to retire and become a full-time piper. Until then, I am committed to sharing my passion for bagpiping while supporting my local community and helping create memorable moments for those who invite me to be part of their special occasions.
